Seven People Injured, Three Critically, Following Gas Grill Blast at Hawaiian Condominium

An eruption from a gas grill at a condominium in Kaanapali Beach, Hawaii, left seven people injured, with ages varying from 18 to 74. The incident, currently under investigation by the Maui Police Department, took place on Thursday evening.

The police department received news of the blast, which happened around 6:15 p.m. at 2481 Kaanapali Parkway, and found seven injured individuals. Among them, three are in a critical state, and one was rushed to the Maui Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room for further care.

Footage of the incident showed the explosion occurring on the middle floors of the condo complex. Beachgoers and other onlookers quickly rushed to the scene to offer help in the wake of the explosion.

Initial investigations point towards liquefied petroleum gas, commonly used for BBQs, being involved in the explosion. Witnesses have suggested that there might have been a malfunction with the grill preceding the incident.

No further updates on the conditions of the victims have been released, and the public has been advised to steer clear of the area as first responders continue their investigation.

This is an ongoing situation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
