Trump's administration persists in its drastic campaign to slash substantial portions of the federal government and intensify immigration restrictions, actions that have incited a wave of legal disputes. This week, over 6,000 Internal Revenue Service employees were dismissed, with staff nationwide receiving instructions to return to work and bring their government-issued equipment.

Trump has notably amped up his criticisms of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, labelling him a "dictator" and incorrectly attributing the inception of the conflict with Russia to him. Concurrently, he held meetings with both Republican and Democratic governors at the White House, where he proceeded to discuss the Russia-Ukraine negotiations.

Trump claimed to have had promising discussions with Putin, though his conversations with Ukraine were less fruitful. He criticized Ukraine's negotiation tactics, vowing not to allow the ongoing conflict to persist. Trump argued that the current war would not have occurred under his leadership.

Trump's anti-Ukraine sentiments have escalated, with repeated instances of him falsely blaming Ukraine for the war. Even during an interview with Fox News Radio host Brian Kilmeade, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with President Zelenskyy. When pressed about the origins of the war, Trump avoided direct answers, but hinted at Russia's involvement while still faulting Ukraine for not making concessions.

Trump also expressed his disappointment over Ukraine's refusal of the initial mineral resources deal. A US official disclosed that a revised version has been proposed.

The Democratic Senators have written a letter to the newly-appointed Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, seeking more information about the firing of thousands of Health and Human Services employees. They expressed concern that such actions undermine the agency's programs and neglect the health and safety of Americans. The Senators are awaiting answers on the number of employees dismissed, the roles they held, and the reasons for their termination.

Finally, the last of the deported migrants at Guantanamo Bay have been returned to Venezuela after two non-military ICE flights transported them to Honduras.
