Donald Trump breaks silence on 'very good' phone call with Vladimir Putin

Donald Trump has spoken out about his recent "very good" phone conversation with Vladimir Putin. During their 90-minute discussion, they reached an agreement on a "limited" ceasefire. Trump expressed that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if he had been the U.S. president in 2022. He mentioned that the ceasefire process is now actively underway and pledged to "get the job done."

In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the call with President Putin as productive, noting they agreed on an immediate ceasefire concerning energy and infrastructure. They aim to quickly establish a complete ceasefire and ultimately end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Trump asserted that the war would not have begun if he were in office. He also mentioned that discussions included peace terms, emphasizing the desire of both President Putin and President Zelenskyy to see an end to the conflict, which is now progressing.

Following the call, Trump and Putin agreed to halt attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure for 30 days. They also arranged for the exchange of 175 prisoners of war between Moscow and Kyiv and the return of 23 injured Ukrainian soldiers.
