Central Bank reduces its housing forecast for 2025

Central Bank Lowers 2025 Housing Completion Predictions

Government Likely to Fall Short on Housing Goals Over the Next Three Years

The Central Bank, located in Dublin's Docklands, has revised its housing completion forecasts for Ireland for this year and the next. This adjustment comes after a significant decline in residential construction activity at the close of 2024. Under the leadership of Gabriel Makhlouf, the bank initially estimated 37,000 homes would be completed in 2025, but now anticipates only 35,000. The forecast for next year has also been slightly lowered to 40,000 homes, although a recovery is expected by 2027, with projections of 44,000 completions.
