The discussions are set to commence immediately in the Middle East, as stated by the White House.
Trump and Putin also concurred on the potential benefits of enhancing the bilateral relationship between the U.S. and Russia, highlighting opportunities for significant economic partnerships and geopolitical stability.
During their conversation, Trump and Putin emphasized the urgency of ending the war in Ukraine with a durable peace agreement. They underscored the importance of improving U.S.-Russia relations and noted that resources spent on the conflict could be better allocated to the welfare of their citizens. The leaders agreed that initiating peace efforts involves halting energy and infrastructure attacks, alongside technical talks for a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea and a complete ceasefire.
The Middle East was identified as a potential area for cooperation to avert future conflicts.
