Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Lee Curtis spent the Covid-19 lockdown together

During the Covid-19 pandemic, acclaimed actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Lee Curtis found solace in each other's company. Curtis, who is the godmother of Gyllenhaal, shared how they bonded over sourdough bread and handstands during the lockdown.

While they were neighbors, Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu were in close proximity to Curtis. The bond between them deepened, especially given Curtis's history with Gyllenhaal's parents, director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner. Curtis, who bagged the Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the 2023 Academy Awards, described their time together as getting to know one another on a deeper level.

She provided insight into their time together at the premiere of Gyllenhaal's new thriller, "The Covenant." She explained that Gyllenhaal, like many others during the lockdown, turned to culinary arts, specifically baking bread. Curtis shared that Gyllenhaal made an abundance of sourdough bread and even incorporated acting, singing, and handstands into their small group activities.

According to Gyllenhaal, his baking endeavors have continued post-pandemic. Despite the world returning to some semblance of normality, he confessed he is still baking – and eating – sourdough bread.

Gyllenhaal's latest project, a military thriller directed by Guy Ritchie, also features Alexander Ludwig, Antony Starr, Bobby Schofield, and Jonny Lee Miller.
