Facing Trump’s Threats, New York’s Governor Adopts a ‘Rambo’ Attitude

New York's Governor Embraces a Combat-Ready Stance Amid Trump's Challenges

Body: In the wake of the November election, New York Governor Kathy Hochul has typically espoused a calm, consensus-seeking attitude in her dealings with President Trump. However, as she navigates her interactions with the President, as well as with Mayor Eric Adams, she has recently adopted a more assertive approach, especially as she gears up for a formidable election next year.

Earlier this week, Governor Hochul demonstrated a noticeable shift in her demeanor. This change in strategy came after President Trump declared his intentions to dismantle New York City's congestion pricing program, a move that triggered an uncharacteristically fiery reaction from the governor.

In her response, Governor Hochul referenced the iconic Sylvester Stallone 'Rambo' movies, warning that Trump would have to face the consequences of his actions, likening his move to drawing "first blood."

Not only did Governor Hochul take a swipe at Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy's reality TV past, but she also exhibited a Trump-esque flair for the dramatic when she criticized the President for his self-comparison to a king.

During a press conference, she responded to one of Trump's tweets saying, “At 1:58 p.m., President Donald Trump tweeted, ‘Long live the king.’” She then retorted, "Let me be clear, New York hasn't been ruled by a king for over 250 years, and we certainly won't start now.”
